I was just thinking about wonders and won-a-days so I searched for wonders on the internet and found the following;
Seven Wonders of the Modern World
The Empire State Building
Itaipu Dam
CN Tower
Panama Canal
Channel Tunnel (Chunnel)
Netherlands North Sea Protection Works
Golden Gate Bridge
Seven Wonders of the Ancient World
The Pyramids of Egypt
The Hanging Gardens of Babylon
The Statue of Zeus
The Temple of Artemis
The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus
The Colossus at Rhodes
The Lighthouse of Alexandria
I also found a list of “One Hit Wonders”, the wonders of Math, the wonders of Physics, 3 D wonders, WebSite wonders and on and on and on. I find this very interesting, although there were a few exceptions to the rule it appears that the focus of wonders by most is a focus on what mankind can make or do. So in the spirit of won-a-days I am starting my own list of wonders, I’m sure it will continue to grow and need lots of revisions, maybe I will even come up with my own 7 wonders list, I doubt it though, that would be so limiting. So here goes:
- Love of the unconditional variety
- Friends
- Smiles
- Birth
- Trees (especially old growth trees, but all trees)
- Laughter
- Rain
- Sunshine
- Snow
- Wind
- Lightning
- Thunder
- Birds can Fly
- Flowers
- Animals
- Tears
- Hugs
- Bugs
- Sight
- Smell
- Touch
- Ideas
- Beliefs
- Fairies (Hey it’s my list!)
To be continued………..
- Love of any variety
- believing in things you can’t see, touch, smell, feel or hear
- Cats
- Dogs
- weeds
- looking so deeply in someones eyes you can see yourself

“Ice Crystals” it says on the current conditions on the weather website. Wow, now that looks incredibly cool!! Actually quite cold, but it looks neat … the air full of little glitters swirling and falling, and even going up when the breeze is right. Quite a pretty wonder of weather.
- My mothers hands at work
- My fathers eyes
- My sons eyes
- My pup trying to sneak just one kiss on the face
- The feeling of a deep rush of cool air as it enters your lungs when you first step outside on a crisp frosty morning
- The feeling of water surrounding your body as you first plunge into a pool
- Water
- Rocks
- Grass…especially between the toes of a baby stepping on it for the first time
- Grains of sand falling between your fingers
- Any animal feeling snow under their feet for the first time
to be continued…
- The scent of a freshly mowed lawn…(using an enviromentally friendly mowing device of course, he,he I say that cause I’m excited that I just got one).
- Holding hands
- Recognizing a gift and sharing it with someone who needs it
- An apple
- An apple pie
- The aroma of cinnamon when the apple pie is baking
- Humming a happy tune
- Humming Birds
In response to Anonymous…the smile reading your comment creates is definately a wonder…thanks!
